Picture-In-Picture To Explain Robotic Functions, New Work – Hansen Medical

Periodically, we like to showcase new work that we feel is interesting to our clients and subscriber base.

The Challenge

Hansen Medical, a global leader in flexible robotics, needed a 3D animation created to showcase the functionality of its new MagellanTM Robotic System. Having successfully communicated messages in the past for other product lines, Hansen Medical was confident its trust in us would again produce the desired results.

The Solution

Particularly interesting in this piece is the combination of several picture- in-picture scenes to help explain the different robotic functions of the system from the outside user control to the inside catheter system.

See For Yourself

Watch this 2-minute animation of the highlights.

Title: How To Create An Effective Medical Animation For A Tradeshow

One of a series – A 60-second video explaining how to create an effective medical animation for a tradeshow.

Over the last few hundred projects, we’ve learned some key lessons on how to create stunning, effective animations…efficiently.

So, today, we are starting a 20-part series to share some of our experience base with you.

Part 1) How To Create An Effective Medical Animation For A Trade Show
The 30-Second Rule

Medical trade shows and conferences are excellent forums to showcase your medical products and procedures using 3D medical animations. After all, if a picture is worth a thousand words, then every minute of animation is worth….

30 frames per second x 60 seconds = 1,800 frames
1,000 words per frame (picture) = 1.8 million words!

However, it can be next to impossible to effectively communicate to your prospects at a tradeshow. Prospects may very well be distracted, tired, time-constrained.

High-end 3D medical animation visuals may get attention. But, then what?

Here’s what we’ve learned.

The keys are to:

divide the animation into thirty-second segments, communicating one thought for each segment, and

keep the maximum time of the animation at a tradeshow to 2-3 minutes.

Now, to the casual or harried prospect, you’ve greatly increased your chances of getting at least one important thought across at a tradeshow using 3D medical animation.

To the prospect with time, you have the opportunity to convey multiple messages, each communicated in quick, easy to digest segments.

Let us know what you’ve learned about exhibiting animations at tradeshows…
